Turning Point Points of Interest

As therapists we are always looking for ways to help our patients manage/solve their health challenges. I have been a therapist for 18 years and have relied on various home care options; ice, heat, stretching, strengthening, and increasing ones intake of water after a treatment as my tool box of goodies to help support my patients self care regime.

Of all the techniques that I have taught my patients over the years the star player has consistently been breathing. If I were only allowed to teach one technique to help my patient’s it would be breathing. Our breath has the ability to change our health and well-being.

Breathing with intention brings you to presence and allows your body to heal. Every morning I start my day with 10 minutes of breathing my entire body or an area that is in pain stiff or causing a problem. I imagine that all my individual cells that make up my body are breathing and are clearing any vibrational energy that is creating disease or discomfort; more about vibration /energy in a later posting.

I encourage you to breathe for 10 minutes every morning either your entire body or an area/areas that are a concern for 21 days. 21 days is enough time to create a new habit that you are likely to continue throughout your life. It is important to have your mind follow your breath and when it wonders just bring it back to your breathing.

Ego functioning from fear (mind based) = Disease = dis ease
Ego functioning from love (heart based) = presence = health and wellness
