I was born and raised in Northwestern Ontario and moved to BC in 2003. While living in Ontario I nurtured and fed my desire to travel and see the world – a passion I still have to this day. It was during one of my cross-border travels that I was involved in a car accident that left me with whiplash and soft tissue injuries. As a result, I sought out the care of a Registered Massage Therapist at the advice of my Chiropractor. Up to that point I thought that massage as only something you received in a spa for relaxation. Its use in healing the body was new to me. My RMT was skilled, professional and aided significantly in my recovery. I quickly came to know the benefits of massage and that it truly can help in healing of the body. Little did I realize how positively massage therapy would affect my entire life.
When I moved to BC 3 years later I knew that a career change was in order. It was then that I decided to that I wanted to study massage therapy. I was accepted at West Coast College of Massage Therapy and graduated in December 2006. It truly was one of the best decisions of my life.
In my treatments I use a variety of techniques including swedish massage, Trigger Point Release, Fascial Release, passive stretching, Musculotendonis Attactment Release and End Range Loading. For patients who are pregnant I can treat them with our clinic’s special pregnancy pillows that allow expectant mothers to lay safely and comfortably on their stomachs. I also encourage my patients to incorporate stretching as part of their self-care routines.
Additonally I recommend combining massage with other alternative/complementary health care practices such as chiropractic and acupuncture for more comprehensive care.
I am currently accepting new patients.
