Plan for Return to Clinical Practice in Respect of COVID-19
In accordance to the CMTBC and provincial guidelines, RMTs have transitioned to a communicable disease prevention plan.
The overall aim of these protocols is to prevent the transmission of communicable diseases. These steps* include:
The therapists are following all the health and safety guidelines outlined by the College of Massage Therapists of British Columbia and the Provincial Health Officer and that they are taking all reasonable precautions to clean and disinfect the clinic and surfaces within the treatment room. No guarantees have been made by the therapist, that the patient may not come in contact with COVID-19 at or during an appointment.

- No one should enter the clinic if they show signs of communicable disease; they should be tested for COVID-19. RMTs must not provide in-person care if they are unwell or waiting for the results of a COVID-19 test.
- Public health authorities recommend the use of masks during treatments
- Physical distancing in waiting rooms and other high traffic areas is advised
- Continued Hand Hygiene is required (washing hands or using hand sanitizer when arriving at clinic). RMT will wash their hands often, as appropriate
- RMTs will maintaining a clean work environment
- The clinic must have adequate ventilation
- All therapists carry professional liability insurance.
